So, DawgyInMiami, you've known for 3-1/2 weeks that Tech would be playing in the Poinsettia Bowl on December 21st. Didn't you make a big deal of watching the game -- with her? Sounds to me that poor communication on your part was to blame. And, you're the one that chose a non-Tech-football-loving wife. Yep, it's definitely YOUR fault! :icon_wink:
Allow me to respond to that one. I have been making a big deal of this for over a week up to and including last night. It's not my fault she has a short memory. :-)
Truth be told, I normally will go along with just about everything the way she wants to. On occasion, though I have to buck the system. It gives me an illusion of control. :-)

She does the same for Saints' games, etc....
It's not safe around me during games anyway.
Next year, take her to the game with you. You get what you want plus this solves everything, you are away from in laws, mini vacation, spouse feels special, all this leads to a solid and happy relationship. Tried it both ways and the above works way better than standing your ground (less expensive too).
